Measure your vehicle's length, width, and height — then choose a size that gives you at least 10–15cm clearance on all sides. Check our size charts on each product page for detailed vehicle compatibility. If you're stuck between two sizes, it's always better to go larger. Give us a call on (03) 9791 8666 and we'll help you pick the right fit.
Yes — all Car Caves are built from heavy-duty, UV-stabilised cover fabric that's designed to handle the Australian climate. They provide protection against rain, dust, UV radiation, and hail. They're not designed for submersion or cyclone-force winds, but for everyday garage and outdoor storage in Australian conditions, they're engineered for the job.
Standard delivery is 5–10 business days for metro areas across Australia. Regional and rural delivery may take a little longer — we'll give you a heads up at checkout. All orders are dispatched from our Bayswater North facility in Victoria, and you'll receive a tracking number once your order is on its way.
At the moment we ship within Australia only. We've looked at international shipping but the freight costs and logistics make it hard to deliver value to overseas customers right now. If you're based outside Australia and keen on our products, get in touch — we'll see what we can work out.
The Hard Pole uses a rigid steel pole frame — it's sturdy, locks into shape quickly, and is great for long-term storage where the enclosure stays set up. The Air Pole uses an inflatable frame, which means when you don't need it, you deflate it and it packs down flat — much easier to store away. The Air Pole is generally better suited to larger vehicles and people who need to pack the enclosure away between uses. Both systems keep the cover fabric from touching your paintwork.
Setup is straightforward and doesn't require any tools. For the Hard Pole, you assemble the steel pole frame then pull the cover over it — most people have it up in under 10 minutes. For the Air Pole, you lay the cover out, inflate the poles with the included pump, and the frame takes shape around your vehicle. Detailed setup instructions are included with every product, and if you get stuck, give us a ring.
Car Caves work best on flat, smooth surfaces like a concrete or paved driveway. Minor surface imperfections are generally fine — the enclosure sits on the ground and small bumps won't cause problems. Very uneven or heavily sloped surfaces can make it harder to achieve a snug seal at the base. If you're unsure about your surface, give us a call and we can advise.
Our largest size in the Air Pole range is 6.5 × 3.5 × 3.0m, which covers most production vehicles. If you've got something extra large — a stretched limousine, a large motorhome, or a particularly wide American classic — get in touch and we'll discuss what options are available. We're not in the business of sending people the wrong product, so we'll be straight with you about what will and won't work.
Yes, all Car Caves come with a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. We stand behind our products because we'd be embarrassed to sell you anything we weren't confident in. If you experience a problem with your Car Cave, contact us at sales@carcaves.com.au and we'll sort it out promptly — no runaround.
Wipe down the cover with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then allow it to dry completely before storing. For the Hard Pole, disassemble the frame and fold the cover neatly. For the Air Pole, deflate the poles fully and fold the cover — it packs down to a surprisingly compact size. Store in a dry location away from direct sunlight when not in use. Don't pack it away damp, as this can lead to mould or odour over time.
